How to open file with DLG extension?

Step 1. Get the FME Desktop

Step 2. Update FME Desktop to the latest version

Change the default application in Mac OS

• From the drop-down menu, accessed by clicking the file with DLG extension, select Information
• Open the Open with section by clicking its name
• Select FME Desktop and click Change for all...
• If you followed the previous steps a message should appear: This change will be applied to all files with DLG extension. Next, click the Continue button to finalize the process.

Step 4. Verify that the DLG is not faulty

You closely followed the steps listed in points 1-3, but the problem is still present? You should check whether the file is a proper DLG file. Problems with opening the file may arise due to various reasons.

1. Check the DLG file for viruses or malware

If the DLG is indeed infected, it is possible that the malware is blocking it from opening. It is advised to scan the system for viruses and malware as soon as possible or use an online antivirus scanner. If the DLG file is indeed infected follow the instructions below.

2. Check whether the file is corrupted or damaged

Did you receive the DLG file in question from a different person? Ask him/her to send it one more time. 3. Check if the user that you are logged as has administrative privileges.

If the systems has insufficient resources to open DLG files, try closing all currently running applications and try again.

5. Ensure that you have the latest drivers and system updates and patches installed
