What is GP file?

Guitar Pro projects are saved as files with GP extension as of version 7 of this software. GP is a proprietary file format. Guitar Pro is a software application developed by Arobas Music for composing music and creating guitar tablatures, available for Windows (versions 5 and later) as well as MacOS. Guitar Pro uses GP files as its default project files. Older versions of Guitar Pro also used a file format based on XML saved to files with .GPX extension (version 6), and even older versions used files with .GTP .GP3, .GP4, and .GP5 extensions.

How to open file with GP extension?

Change the default application in Mac OS

• From the drop-down menu, accessed by clicking the file with GP extension, select Information
• Open the Open with section by clicking its name
• Select Guitar Pro and click Change for all...

Step 4. Verify that the GP is not faulty
