What is LO file?

Files with .LO extension store compiled source code written in LISP for Interleaf software development environment. Compiled LSP files can hold commonly used routines and code fragments that can be accessed faster thanks to precompilation. Interleaf Compiled Lisp File uses I-Lisp syntax (a dialect of LISP). LO files are binary files and cannot be accessed or edited directly. Interleaf software tool was developed in the 1980s and sometime after acquired by BroadVision and further developed as QuickSilver.

I-Lisp along with compiled .LO files were used in Interleaf for customization purposes and to create automation scripts. Nowadays LO format is considered a legacy format as its specification is not included in QuickSilverdocumentation.

How to open file with LO extension?

Step 1. Install QuickSilver software

The most common reason for such problems is the lack of proper applications that supports LO files installed on the system. This one is an easy one. • From the list choose the appropriate program and confirm by clicking Change for all....
• If you followed the previous steps a message should appear: This change will be applied to all files with LO extension. Next, click the Continue button to finalize the process.

Step 4. Check the LO for errors

You closely followed the steps listed in points 1-3, but the problem is still present? You should check whether the file is a proper LO file. Problems with opening the file may arise due to various reasons.

1. Verify that the LO in question is not infected with a computer virus

If the file is infected, the malware that resides in the LO file hinders attempts to open it.
