What is STUDIO file?

Files with the STUDIO extension contain ready-to-cut projects for use with Silhouette cutting software and plotter. This proprietary file format is dedicated exclusively to the Silhouette Studio software series and is directly opened within it. It has replaced the older GST format, but both types of files are still supported. If Silhouette Studio software is installed on a computer, the files should be by default associated with it.

What information do STUDIO files contain?

STUDIO files can be downloaded directly to the library from the Silhouette project site. They cannot be opened in other software, however, it is possible to export STUDIO files to another graphic format. In the free version, you can only print the project to a PDF file.

• By clicking right mouse button on the selected STUDIO file open the file menu and choose Information
• Open the Open with section by clicking its name
• Select the appropriate software and save your settings by clicking Change all
• If you followed the previous steps a message should appear: This change will be applied to all files with STUDIO extension. Next, click the Continue button to finalize the process.

Step 4. Ensure that the STUDIO file is complete and free of errors
